Delete your Heart Soil account

You can delete your Heart Soil account, and everything stored with it, at any time. It takes effect straight away and cannot be undone. If you would like a copy first, choose Export my data in the same place in the app.

Delete it yourself

In the Heart Soil app on iPhone or Android, or in your browser at myheartsoil.com/app/ if the app is not on your phone:

1. Sign in with the account you want to delete.
2. Tap your picture in the top-right corner to open your profile.
3. Under Account, tap Delete account.
4. Type delete my account and confirm.

Your account and data are removed while you wait, and you are signed out.

Or ask us to delete it

Email newjourneydesigns.co@gmail.com from the address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my Heart Soil account”. We may ask you to confirm it is your account, then we delete it and reply to say so, within 30 days.

What is deleted

• Your sign-in (email and password, Google or Apple)
• Your profile, settings and reminders
• Your Rule of Life, practices and their history
• Prayer topics and their verses and requests
• Journal entries and reflections, including encrypted ones, and your encryption keys
• Memorization plans and review history
• Your listing in friend search, your friendships, any invites or friend requests to or from you, and any memorization challenges or encouragements you sent or received
• Your group memberships and check-ins; a group with no other members is deleted entirely
• The notification tokens for your devices
• The counts of how much you used AI suggestions and the natural reading voice

What is kept, and for how long

• A group you belonged to with other members carries on without you. If you created it, another member takes it over.
• If you gave a friend a free month of Heart Soil Plus, the record that they received one stays, so the one-per-person limit still holds, but your name and account are removed from it.
• Photos you added to verses or prayer topics were only ever stored on your phone. Removing the app removes them.
• Reports of a member’s content, whether you made them or they are about you, are kept so we can moderate. So is our own record of any Heart Soil Plus we gave you.
• Anonymous usage statistics, which are never linked to your account, are kept by Google Analytics under its own retention period.
• Anything still held in backups is gone within 30 days.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel a Heart Soil Plus subscription bought on iPhone. Cancel it first in your iPhone’s Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Apple keeps its own record of the purchase.

Deleting some data, not your account

A journal entry or a prayer topic you delete in the app is removed from our servers at once; your account stays. For anything else, email us at the address above.
